Pin It Pinas! A Community of Content Curators in the Philippines

Hey guys! I just came from an awesome vacation in Guam. I really love it there and I already miss how laid back that place is. But enough about Guam, because today I'm here to talk about Pinterest!

I am pretty sure you already know what Pinterest is, but in case you haven't heard of it, it's a visual bookmarking tool that helps you discover and save ideas.

Sounds fun right? Here is an example of what you can do with Pinterest:

Last year, my sisters and I planned a surprise party for our mom's 60th birthday and I was in charge of the decor. I made a special Pinterest board where I can compile all the inspiration from the invites, to decor, and down to the table setting.

You can set boards on Pinterest as public, which can be viewed by anyone, or secret, which can only be viewed by you and your selected pinners.

This board helped me pull together an awesome party for our Mom. And here's the outcome! You can read the article on Katha Magazine.

Pinterest will be featuring my Crafts board on their homepage. You can view my DIY projects that I made in the past, and also my other pins that served as inspiration. When you click a pin, it will lead you to where the site the photo came from so you can learn more about it.

Click here to follow me on Pinterest and if you don't have an account yet, the first 10 people can sign up for an account with this link. This is available for a limited time only.

Happy pinning!

Kitchen Design Inspiration

Hello everyone! My family mentioned before that they were planning on renovating our kitchen. I thought they weren't serious on doing it until lately they've been asking questions about what finishes to use.

So I made a quick mood board for a little bit of kitchen inspiration.

I have always wanted white subway tiles as backsplash and black granite countertop for my kitchen. And you can't go wrong with white shaker cabinets, they're simple but beautiful. To balance out the cold tiles and countertop, maybe add hardwood flooring for warmth.

I also like to add metallic elements in the design for texture, like those industrial pendant lamps and the cup drawer pulls. As for accents, you can't go wrong with plants. They definitely give life to the space.

I searched in Pinterest to find examples of kitchen designs that go well with my mood board:

White elements, like the cabinets and backsplash reflect natural lighting and this makes the kitchen bright and airy.

See how the black countertop breaks the whiteness of this kitchen? If it's too white then it's too stark. Those cup drawer pulls also give a little sophistication into your kitchen.

I like how the kitchen below is styled. The hanging lamps and the framed sign add character to the space. And of course we all need a clock in the kitchen.

I know I'm busy, but I can't wait to push through with our home renovation! Hope things work out well for us with the kitchen redesign.

Pinterest Feed This Week

Just to share on this blog some more pretty things all over the internet, I decided to start making posts on what's on my Pinterest newsfeed. You know, just for fun.

Anyway, here are some of the pins that I found interesting:

1. Paint your doors pink and yellow

This two-toned door at Amanda Happé's apartment was featured in Design Sponge. It's a nice pop of color in her minimalist home.

2. Plates on the wall

This photo was posted by Clemmensen & Brok, at Elly's Pancake House in Chicago. If I had the time to go to the flea market, I'd buy as many vintage plates and porcelain items as I can. And one of the things you can do with vintage plates is to hang them on the wall.

3. Bri Emery's new home

Bri Emery of designlovefest had her house done by Emily Henderson, the winner of HGTV design star, my favorite stylist in the whole world.

4. Anthropologie's Stitch-Striped Pillow

These pastel colored pillows from Anthropologie comes in three colors. I like the styling and how they photographed the pillows in this picture.

5. Bunny Ear Bags

Joy Cho posted this DIY bunny ear bags for Easter. You can put treats and other surprises in this bag for a party. Easter is coming! Are you ready to decorate your Easter eggs?

6. What happens when a bunch of pastel paper circles are posted on the wall

This folded paper decor was posted on Oh So Beautiful Paper for a brunch for Minted. It's so beautiful I have no words for it.
