Ants on a Log

Ants on a Log is one of the most nutritious snacks for children mainly because you have protein from the peanut butter and your kids get to eat fruits and vegetables at the same time.

Here is how to make them:
- Chop off the celery leaves and store them for future use. Then chop the celery stalks into halves or threes, or even into bite size pieces.
- Spread the peanut butter on the celery
- Put the raisins on top of the peanut butter, lining them up like ants on a log.

My first bite felt weird because I don't eat celery that much and so I'm not used to that strong celery flavor. But then after a few bites the peanut butter and the raisins balanced out the strong celery flavor. I find that the more raisins you put, the better it would taste.

Children may have fun making these snacks on their own. And according to my sister (who is a preschool teacher), when kids prepare their own snack, they tend to eat it and finish it.
